Today was Sean's 24th birthday. The kids bought him a set of pots and pans. He loves to cook and he had been begging for a new set for months. He had been really sad that his birthday was on a Monday because he wanted me to be able to be around so he was very pleased to find out last night before we went to bed that I had asked off weeks ago and would be spending the day with him. We took him to his favorite restrauart Pappadeaux for lunch. Then we just spend the afternoon going to places he loves like Best Buy. He was pleased to have a day about him. It's been awhile. :)
Riker is currently OBSESSED with Toy Story, Buzz Lightyear mostly. We really wanted to take him to the Toy story double feature but our schedules didn't allow us to take him. So we decided to make a big deal out of watching them at home. Last night we set up the living room for movie night. Had popcorn, homeade pizzas, and cookies. He loved it. We started late though so we will have to watch Toy Story 2 next week. We can't wait to take him to Toy Story 3 in June. We had been planning for months for him to be a UFC fighter for Halloween but yesterday he saw a Buzz Lightyear costume and wanted it bad. When we were watching Toy Story last night I tried it on him and he freaked out ran around the living room laughing and rolling all over the place. I had to hold him down to take it off of him.
Rien Rae is 7 weeks old now. She has great head control and is such a sweet girl. She smiles all the time! We just love her.
It is so different having a breastfed baby than a bottle fed one. Riker received breast milk until 6 1/2 months of age but it was through a bottle and supplemented with formula thanks to the nursing staff and St. Davids Georgetown who convinced Sean and I we had to give him formula because he lost a few ounces after he was born. In a moment of weakness I agreed to. Very soon after I learned that was normal. I was always determined that my next baby would be fed the way I wanted. Rien is 7 weeks old and only gets a bottle when I am at work. Even though it's still my milk she is not a fan. When Rien wants to eat she isn't happy until she does so I have learned I must give her what she wants. I am now "that lady feeding her baby in public." But hey I keep covered. :)
I seriously need to get off my butt and start working out. I need to find the time. I still have 8 pounds of pre-Rien weight and 7 pounds of excess weight to get rid of. My goal date was January 7th but at this rate I don't see that happening. It is time to get down to business!
