KENLEIGH'S Birth Story - VERY DELAYED

On July 19, 2012 I drove to the hospital to get ready to have my baby girl. I was on my own for a few minutes because Sean was at home getting our heard ready to arrive. Then pretty much at the same time Sean, Riker, Rien Rae, Kaedence, Mom, James, and Natalie all came in. (Luckily I had  a large room.) At 8:30am they started my pitocin and at 8:55am they broke my water. It wasn't long before I was having contractions every two minutes during which I still got around to texting Haley R. about work. At that point I got a little grouchy and requested to get up for a bit and kicked everyone out for just a few minutes...this led to me requesting the epidural. I'm usually not so grouchy in labor but I was really trying to be good because my babies were there. After a few pushes everyone I previously listed got to witness my baby girl enter the world at 12:25pm. She weighed 8 lbs 8 oz and was 21 inches long. Because my lovely baby girl didn't have my blood type she had some bili issues which led to us not getting discharged until the 21st. We only were discharged then because I basically threw a fit and explained to them that I have dealt with this before (Riker) and knew what to look for and would take her to the doctor every day as long as they needed me to. Rien had a gymnastics meet that morning and I was determined to be there. I drove up right on time wearing my sexy hospital panties under my yoga pants with hospital bracelets still  on. Just like that we were a family of 6...overbooked with events but happy as can be. :)

Grandma

Last Wednesday my grandmother passed away and everyday since has just been filled with this awkward feeling. I know it's just because we haven't done the memorial yet so I feel like it's all just lingering until then.

Unfortunetly my grandma hadn't been the grandma I grew up with in quite some time. The good side of that was by the time she passed, I had already said goodbye to her in a way. My grandma taught me how to bake (she tried to teach my mom...that didn't go well. lol.), she and my grandpa used to take me to all kinds of fun places and do all kinds of fun things with me. I have so many positive memories of my childhood with them. Over the last few years shortly before my grandpa passed away, she began to change like so many do when they get to be her age. So slowly I was able to say goodbye to her. What's really killing me is watching my mom and brother go through this. She lived with them for almost 4 years and the hard time I had going over there on the weekends watching her decline was everyday for them. She told me a million times she just wanted to make it to 80 then join Grandpa. This February she turned 80, she was stubborn so of course she got her way. She was awesome and I am glad for the time we got. I talked to her the day before she died and she was blunt as usual and she flat out told me that out of her 4 grandkids nobody was better than James somehow in his 14 short years he was able to outrank those of us who have been around for 24-38 years. Little punk. LOL. Well grandma we miss you but I'm glad you can have your coffee with Grandpa and hang out with Peppermint and Peppermint II again! :)

Kae Kae Banana is ONE!!!

Kae Kae Banana turned 1 year old on 11/23/11. We had a great day together. We went to a Gymboree class in the morning which she loved. Afterwords we stopped my Target and she passed out. I guess that was too much for her lol. After all the fun we went home for lunch and naptime. Then it was time for Pictures and Build-A-Bear. She had the best day! That night we had a special dinner and gave her a cupcake for the first time. She was on one crazy sugar high like I had never seen before.

That Saturday we had her party. Banana themed of course and she had a great time!!! I can't believe she is sooooo big now!

Growing Up

Yesterday was Riker's first day of Pre-K. His teacher's name is Mrs. Pritts and she seems nice. He is so proud of his back pack and lunch box. He thinks he is so grown up now. Yesterday mom took the girls to school so I could take him to his first day. He had breakfast in the cafeteria and when I began instructing him on what to do with his tray when he was done he stopped me, told me he knew, and told me what he needed to do with it. On our walk from the cafeteria to his class he told me that I could go home now and leave him at school. I dropped him off at his class and left shortly after since he began ignoring me and didn't really want me there. :( I was so anxious to pick him up and hear about his first day. I get there and he looks at me like he was disappointed I showed up. He asked me if we were going to ride the bus and when I told him no he began to cry. He started to tell me he was a big boy and big boys ride the school bus home. He said he really wanted to ride it and told me, "Talk to dad. I wanna ride the bus." I called and told Sean the problem. Today he will be riding the bus to our house and I will wait for him there. He is getting on the bus in just one hour and my stomach is in knots. I am a nervous wreck! I know he will be fine. But I am FREAKING OUT!!!

Rien Rae's 2nd Birthday!!!

Last Monday was Rien Rae's 2nd Birthday. We decided instead of buying her gifts we would give her money and take her to pick out her own. We started off the day at Target where she picked a doll she just loved! After that we took her to get her bangs trimed and nails done (Pigtails & Crewcuts = awful). Then we took her to Claires and then the mall. She spent all her money on the doll and clothes. That girl sure is picky about her clothes! She had a great day. Before we went home we took her to Sharkey's to get her nails done properly and she loved them. We had dinner and a pink cake with Paw Paw & Yo Yo @ our house to end the day. Overall, it was a great day! I love that girl.

Things you shouldn't say to a Pregnant Woman & What You Should Say Back

Saw this on msn.com. :)

1. Are you sure you should be having another baby?
- Are you sure you should be asking such a rude question?

2. Did this happen before or after the wedding?
- Who knows? We have always had a great sex life!

3. Are you having triplets? You look HUGE!
- How many months along are you?

4. You'll never sleep again!!!
- I am looking forward to many sleepless nights with my new baby!

5. Are you sure this is what you want?
- Yes. Thanks for asking though!

6. Is it the same dad as the first?
- Maybe not. I've never thought about that.

7. I bet you are glad you had her prematurely so that you wouldn't get so big.
- Actually, I care more about my baby's health than gaining weight.

8. Aren't you too old to have another baby?
- Guess not.

9. I hope it comes out normal.
- Well, no matter what, I'll be sure to teach him the manners you lack.

10. Do you know who the father is?
- Your husband.
(This one is my favorite!)

There were 5 more on MSN but I didn't like those.
